The agreement, in plain words.

Who you are contracting with

These terms are between you and CardParse Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17396101, whose address is Suite RA01, 195-197 Wood Street, London E17 3NU. Where these terms say we, us or CardParse, they mean that company.

The service

CardParse photographs business cards, reads them, and stores the result as contact records you can search, correct and export. You keep ownership of everything you put in. We claim no rights over your contacts and we do not use them for any purpose other than providing the service to you.

Your account

• You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what your team members do.
• Keep your password to yourself and do not share logins. Each person who scans needs their own seat.
• API keys are credentials. Anyone holding one can add contacts to your organisation, so revoke a key as soon as a device is lost or somebody leaves.
• Tell us promptly if you think an account or a key has been compromised.

What you must not do

• Collect cards from people who have not handed them to you, or use the service to build lists you have no basis to hold.
• Upload anything that is not a business card, in particular identity documents or payment cards.
• Attempt to reach another organisation’s data, probe the service for weaknesses without asking us first, or work around rate limits.
• Resell the service, or run it on behalf of others without agreeing that with us.

Security research is welcome and we would rather hear from you than not. Write to hello@cardparse.com before testing anything and we will agree what is in scope.

What it costs

• The first 50 cards are free and need no payment card at all.
• Beyond that the platform costs $949 a year, which includes the first five users, and each additional user is $12 a month billed annually.
• Seats can be added or removed at any time. Adding a seat is charged pro rata for the remainder of the current year when you add it, and the seat then renews with the subscription on its existing date. Removing a seat is credited against the next invoice.
• Prices are exclusive of tax, which is calculated at checkout based on where you are.

Stopping

You can cancel at any time from the billing page. The subscription runs to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew. We do not refund the remainder of a period, and we do not make you call anybody to leave.

Export your contacts before you go. After the account closes we delete the data, and there is no archive to recover it from.

We may suspend an account that is not paying or that is being used in the ways listed above. Except where something illegal is happening we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

What we promise, and what we do not

We will keep the service running and treat your data carefully. We do not promise that parsing is perfect. It reads photographs of physical objects in bad light, so it will sometimes be wrong, which is why a field the parser is unsure about is flagged for a person rather than accepted quietly. Check anything that matters before you act on it.

We are not liable for business you lose because a contact was misread, a sync was delayed, or the service was unavailable. Where liability cannot be excluded it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the problem.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them. If you are a consumer rather than a business, this does not take away any protection you have under the law of the country you live in.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the change, and if you do not, cancel and we will refund the unused part of the period.
